Hosted by the American Folklife Center and Curated by Joe Z. Johnson, this free public symposium and evening concert celebrates 20 years since the first Black Banjo Gathering and celebrates the artists, builders, organizers, and scholars who have shaped the Black Banjo Renaissance.

The symposium featurees conversations on the movement’s past, present, and future. the evening Keynote conversation between Dr. Allison Martin and Rhiannon Giddens, followed by a performance by Demeanor.
